From the ground up
A working flower farm and floral studio in Spring Hill, Macedon Ranges — growing and designing seasonal flowers since 2020.
Our
Story
It started with twenty acres and a question: what do you grow on land like this?
The answer, it turned out, was flowers.
Get to Know Us
The Posy Yard began as a backyard operation in Melbourne — a few beds, a neighbouring yard pressed into service, and a growing certainty that flower farming was exactly the right thing to be doing. When the opportunity came to move to a 20-acre farm in the Macedon Ranges, we took it. That land is now home to our cutting garden, our growing beds, and what we're quietly building into the farm we always had in mind.
We grow ranunculus and sweet peas through spring, dahlias through summer and into autumn, and chrysanthemums as the season winds down — a farm season that runs from September through to May. What we can't grow ourselves, we source from other Victorian growers we trust.
The floristry side grew alongside the farming — first posies and gifts, then weddings, now a full studio practice that runs from our property in Spring Hill. It's a family operation: my in-laws help with the growing and family-life, my partner was hired for a role on a farm he didn't apply for.

We're here to help
Our mission is to share our love of flowers and knowledge about what's in season, how to make the most of your budget, and what will make an impression with flowers.

Seasonal & Local
We're committed to using the freshest local ingredients in all our designs - whether our own flowers or by partnering with other farmers throughout the seasons.

Growing beauty
We love flowers and are thrilled to be part of your celebration. No matter what you want to say or what you're celebrating, we're here to help.
How we work
We design with what's genuinely in season. That means your flowers look and behave the way they're meant to — better colour, better vase life, and a freshness that imported, forced blooms rarely have.
Every arrangement is designed and grown by us. We don't use floral foam. We prioritise Victorian-grown flowers wherever possible, and when we source from outside the farm, we're choosing growers who care about the same things we do.
We keep our wedding intake intentionally small. Not because we're precious about it — because doing fewer weddings well is the only way to do this work properly.

For full-service brides
If you're looking for a florist who will listen, be honest about what's in season for your date, and design something that actually feels like you — you're in the right place.

We work with couples across Melbourne and the Macedon Ranges, from intimate ceremonies to full-scale installations. Our minimum investment for full-service wedding florals is $4,000.

If this feels like your style, send your date and we'll talk through what's possible.
